I'm participating in the one room challenge for the first time! I've debated about what room I wanted to transform and I finally settled on a space (can I call it a room?) that's in need of a transformation: our stairwell!
Our basement is partially finished and contains our gym and my parents in-law suite. When they come to stay with us, they stay in their room and the walk to the basement is just ugly. The walls are partially primed but have scratches in them, the stairs are completely unfinished and the banister is unfinished, too. I'm a big believer that every space should be welcoming for guests and that includes stairwells, too.
Over the course of the next six weeks or so, I'm going to transform this space. Here's what I'm planning:
Patch holes in drywall
Prime walls for paint
Sand stairs
Paint/Stain stair tops
Prep risers
Paint or cover stair risers
Paint the walls
Decorate the walls
Stain + Seal the railing
