Our son recently turned two, and since then I’ve been trying to find ways to creatively fill some of his day with new and exciting activities. Bonus points if it’s using materials that we already have around the house or that are easily accessible! I stumbled upon a version of this on Pinterest and knew I had to try it out with our little guy. This post may contain affiliate links.
Here’s what you’ll need:
The activity is simple! Partially place the golf tees into the foam blocks and let your toddler hammer them in further. Or, if your toddler is anything like mine, they’ll insist on placing it in the block themselves.
There is so many ways to passively learn in this activity, all while working on fine motor skills. For example, you can talk about the colors of the golf tees, or count how many are in the block. Once the block is full, you can flip it over and start again, or get out another block! They tend to come in multi-packs. You could also try using a pool noodle, or styrofoam block.
Try it out? Let me know @farmhouseonthefield! I’d love to hear how it went.
I’ll be posting more of our toddler time activities soon so stay tuned! Follow along on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok to see more from me.
