If you saw my recent post, you know that I’ve been trying to find ways to creatively fill our 2-year-olds day. The holiday season is no exception! I This DIY tree garland was so easy, mess free and so fun! Using materials we already had around the house too, which is a huge bonus.

Here’s what you’ll need:
Cut your green construction paper into triangles of varying sizes and set aside. Using yellow construction paper, cut or glue into star shapes, and tape on to the top of the green triangles. not interested in cutting out stars? You can always use star stickers instead.
Then let the fun begin! Let your toddler use the color coding stickers to place “ornaments”onto green triangle trees. Repeat with each triangle tree.
There are so many ways to passively learn in this activity too, all while working on fine motor skills. For example, you can talk about the colors of the ornaments, or count how many ornaments there are.
Once all of the trees are decorated, tape or glue the backs of the trees to your twine and hang where your toddler can see their work displayed!
Try it out? Let me know @farmhouseonthefield! I’d love to hear how it went.
I’ll be posting more of our toddler time activities soon so stay tuned! Follow along on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok to see more from me.
